Sage Holloway: Let me share a memorable case from my early career. I was working with a manufacturing company that had recently expanded internationally. By analyzing their financial statements, we discovered they were using aggressive revenue recognition policies and had significant inventory management issues. The numbers told a story that the profit figures alone were hiding.
